Lil Peep died from an accidental drug overdose of the drugs Fentanyl and Xanax, which can be a lethal combination of drugs, even in very small doses. There were also other drugs found in his system when a toxicology test was performed including cocaine, Tramadol, and marijuana. Other opioids were found in his system through a urinalysis including hydrocodone, oxycodone, hydromorphone, and oxymorphone.

Lil Peep died on November 15, 2017, after being found unconscious by his manager on his tour bus. He went into the tour bus to take a nap at about 5:45 pm, and a couple of times, his manager had tried to wake him up since he had a show to do but couldn’t get him to wake up, although he was still breathing at this time.

When the manager went back a third time to try to wake him for the show, he found he wasn’t breathing and began CPR on him while he waited for paramedics to arrive. However, Lil Peep was never transported to the hospital because he was pronounced deceased on the tour bus.

He took about six pills that were white in one of the videos, which most assume was Xanax, while also talking about how he had just smoked some weed and took mushrooms. 

Sadly, he also captioned a post on Instagram mentioning how he needed some help, but when he had his pills, he didn’t need help and was fine. He ended this post with “maybe I won’t die young, and I’ll be happy.” 

Another one of his posts said, “When I die, you’ll love me,” and that post is thought to be his final words, at least publicly.

Music industry broker and First Access Entertainment chief executive, Sarah Stennett, also released a statement after he died to the New York Times. In her statement, she said she was heartbroken and how tragic it was. She said she didn’t think that he had wanted to die and how his career was going so well and that he had ambitions and goals in life.

Other rappers and musicians also posted social media condolences after Lil Peep died including Sam Smith, Post Malone, and Diplo. Lil Uzi Vert posted a picture that was edited, which was one of the final pictures that Lil Peep had posted online. He then Tweeted a message about drugs and how everyone would love to stop, but it’s hard when you’re under the influence of pills all day. He said he understood what Lil Peep did, and he did not fault him for what happened.
